Manual Museum, Bronze Foundry
Near the end of the road in Wallowa County sits the beautiful, warm 25,000 square foot log Manuel Museum Complex in the little historic town of Joseph, Oregon. The incredible site was personally designed and arranged by David and Lee Manuel. For three-quarters of the year the complex is overrun by visitors from around the globe. While the snow is on the ground the Museum and restaurant sleep. With a similarity to Santa and his elves, the foundry now works overtime to meet all the Manuel commitments in bronze. Wallowa Lake Highway Forest State Scenic Corridor
This day-use site is located along the Wallowa River and is a popular fishing and wildlife viewing area. Steelhead fishing is good during the spring and fall. The canyon rises steeply on both sides of the road and is frequented by deer, elk and bear. The slopes of the canyon are forested primarily with pine. Flowers are abundant in the spring. The Wallowa River is clear, cold and popular with fly fishing enthusiasts because it can be waded in many locations.
