Things to do in Roseburg

Applegate Trail
The Applegate Trail passed through Southern Oregon along the route of present day Main Street in Roseburg. An Historical Marker is located on Main Street just north of Douglas Avenue. The Applegate Trail, sometimes referred to as the Southern Road, was opened in 1846. It was intended to serve as an alternate way of reaching the western valleys of the Oregon Territory while avoiding the perils of the Oregon Trail along the Columbia River route. The Applegate Trail remained in use until well into the 1880's. Call (541) 679-0118 for more information.
